Horus’ brother Seth, murdered their father Osiris which caused a fight between Horus and Seth for their father’s throne. The fight was eventually won by Horus but he lost his left eye over it. Now it was believed that his left eye was the moon’s eye while his right eye was the sun’s eye. Thoth, a mighty god, later restored Horus’ left eye that he had lost.
